The IBM Personal Computer Floppy Disk Drive Controller card fitted to the IBM Personal Computer Series was driven by an Intel P8272A, supporting four 5¼-inch double-sided double-density floppy drives (providing 360K formatted capacity each).

Two drives could be connected to each connector, one internal and one external DC37.
